And it's set in!

The head cold has fully set in...oh boy.... Amanda has it too, but is dealing with it better than me. I truely am a wimp when it comes to being sick, I think because it doesn't happen often (fingers crossed!) She even went out and ran for an hour in the Auburn Canyon. Me, I attempted to do the Spinerval video "Have Mercy." My legs were dead, I was having trouble breathing, and my body temperature was through the roof! After 20 minutes I had to abandon the video and just spin. I got an hour in. I'll do the same today. Ughh, I hate getting sick.

Rylan and Annelise are going a little stir crazy, it's rained all week, so they've not been outside to play very little. If it's not raining later today (it is right now), I think it would be good to let them play outside for at least an hour or so.

On the racing/bike front-in preparation for OP, I've been searching for a tubeless 29er wheelset. Dan is checking on Crossmax prices through Victory Velo and I'm also keeping an eye out on Ebay. There are three wheelsets that if go for the right price would fit the bill. That said, I have two, possibly three road/cx wheelsets to put up for sale. The natural cycle of things. ;o)

Time for some coffee!

Old Pueblo Prep Countdown

Started focusing in on the 2008 24hrs of Old Pueblo in November. Things have gone pretty well and unlike last year I'm not nursing any injuries at this late date. Fingers crossed. I did come down with a cold this week, doesn't seem too bad. Guess it's okay timing.

I'm tapering now these last two weeks, and the week of the race, well....I'll be busy finalizing bikes, gear, etc.

This should be a fun trip. Amanda, my wife, is coming with me to do support. It'll be her first time and more interesting, it'll be the first time she's been away from Rylan and Annelise overnight. Thankfully, Sean and Mary Allen will be there too. Sean racing and Mary doing support for Sean and helping Amanda through kid withdrawal. ;o)

Tonight, I'm hanging with Rylan and Annelise while Amanda is out with her 24hrs of Coolest 4 girl team. They're doing dinner once a month to get things in order. I think it's just an excuse to eat mexican food and drink tequila!

Still sponsored with Sycip, but this year I will also be sponsored by my local shop Victory Velo in Auburn Ca. Look forward to flying their colors this year and continuing to ride on the outstanding Sycip bicycles! The fellas at Dinotte also were kind enough to help me out with lighting, so this year I'll be seeing very clearly at night. Thanks Victory Velo, Sycip, and Dinotte!
Off to hang with the kids...bedtime is coming.
